Teacher Strike Action - Thursday 27th April & Tuesday 2nd May 2023
Dear Parent/Carer,
There are two more national teacher strike days planned on Thursday 27th April & Tuesday 2nd May 2023.
As before, Sewell Park Academy will be closed to all pupils except those who were identified as vulnerable or those in Y11. The National Education Union (NEU) have stated that they wish to minimise any disruption to Year 11 students in the final weeks before the examinations. Therefore, on these days, Year 11 students MUST attend school as normal and attend their timetabled lessons.
In the event that strike action is suspended, all students will be expected to attend as normal.
As before - school meals will be provided for all pupils attending the school plus those who are entitled to Free School Meals who are not in school. This will include a hot meal which will be available to have in the canteen during lunchtime (1.20pm-2pm). Students who are not in school and are entitled to a Free School Meal, should come in via the Chestnut Nursery gate between 1.20pm and 1.30pm and go directly to the canteen.
Many thanks,
SPA
